Image Alt Text
Image alt text improves accessibility and helps search engines understand your product images. Vibe SEO Meta provides a dedicated image manager for editing alt text across all images in a product.

- Find the product you want to edit and click the Images button on its row.
- The Image Alt Text page opens, showing all images for that product.
Editing alt text
Section titled “Editing alt text”Each product image is displayed with:
- A thumbnail of the image.
- The filename.
- An editable Alt Text field with a character counter (ideal: 1–125 characters).

Why alt text matters
Section titled “Why alt text matters”- Accessibility — screen readers use alt text to describe images to visually impaired users.
- SEO — search engines index alt text to understand image content, which can drive traffic through Google Image Search.
- Broken images — if an image fails to load, the alt text is displayed in its place.
Best practices for alt text
Section titled “Best practices for alt text”- Be descriptive — describe what the image shows, not what the product is named. “Red leather crossbody bag with gold clasp” is better than “Product 1234”.
- Keep it concise — aim for under 125 characters.
- Skip “image of” or “photo of” — screen readers already announce that the element is an image.
- Include relevant keywords naturally, but avoid keyword stuffing.
