AI Alt Text
Vibebun Image Optimizer can generate descriptive alt text for your images using AI vision models. Good alt text improves accessibility for screen-reader users and helps with image SEO.

How to use AI alt text
Section titled “How to use AI alt text”Single image
Section titled “Single image”- Navigate to Images and find the image you want to add alt text to.
- Click the Edit alt button next to the image.
- An inline editor opens showing the current alt text (if any).
- Click the AI suggest button. The app sends your image to the AI model and returns a suggested description.
- Review and edit the suggestion as needed.
- Click Save to apply the alt text, or Cancel to discard changes.
Bulk AI alt text (paid plans)
Section titled “Bulk AI alt text (paid plans)”On the Basic and Advanced plans, you can generate AI alt text for multiple images at once:
- Select images using the checkboxes in the image browser.
- Use the bulk AI alt text action from the action bar.
The app processes each image through the AI model and applies the generated alt text.
AI providers
Section titled “AI providers”The app supports three AI vision providers. Your store administrator configures which provider is used:

All three providers produce high-quality alt text descriptions. The provider is configured server-side and applies to all images in your store.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”You can customize AI alt text behavior in Settings:
Language
Section titled “Language”Choose the language for generated alt text. Supported languages include:
English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Russian, Ukrainian.
Max alt-text length
Section titled “Max alt-text length”Set a character limit for generated alt text (range: 50–500 characters). The AI model will keep its description within this limit.
Tips for better alt text
Section titled “Tips for better alt text”- Review AI suggestions — AI-generated alt text is a starting point. Review and refine it to ensure accuracy, especially for product-specific details like colors, materials, or model numbers.
- Be descriptive but concise — good alt text describes what the image shows in one or two sentences. Avoid keyword stuffing.
- Include product details — for product images, mention the product name, key features, and relevant attributes (color, size, material).
- Set the right language — choose the language that matches your store’s primary audience.
Quota and limits
Section titled “Quota and limits”AI alt-text suggestions have their own monthly quota, separate from optimization quotas:

The quota resets on your billing-cycle anniversary. Manual alt-text edits (without AI) do not count against this quota.
