Getting Started
Get up and running with Vibebun Image Optimizer in just a few steps.
Step 1: Install the app
Section titled “Step 1: Install the app”Install Vibebun Image Optimizer from the Shopify App Store. The app embeds directly into your Shopify admin — no theme edits, no code changes, no external accounts required.
After installation, you’ll land on the Dashboard page inside your Shopify admin.
Step 2: Sync your images
Section titled “Step 2: Sync your images”Click the Sync from Shopify button on the dashboard. The app will import all your product images and media-library files automatically.
The dashboard displays four stat cards after syncing:
- Product images — total product images in your store
- Media images — total file-manager images
- Large images — images over the target file size (default: 400 KB)
- Optimized — images that have already been compressed
Step 3: Optimize your first image
Section titled “Step 3: Optimize your first image”- Navigate to Images in the sidebar.
- You’ll see two tabs: Product Images and Media Images. Select the tab you want.
- Click Fetch Images to load the image list.
- Find an image you want to optimize and click the Optimize button next to it.
- The app downloads the image, compresses it, and replaces it in place on Shopify’s CDN. You’ll see the result inline — for example, “1.25 MB → 117 KB (saved 91%)”.
That’s it! Your image is now optimized, and the original is preserved for rollback.
Step 4: Explore more features
Section titled “Step 4: Explore more features”Now that you’ve optimized your first image, explore what else you can do:
- Bulk actions — optimize or roll back multiple images at once
- AI alt text — generate descriptive alt text with AI (Basic and Advanced plans)
- Settings — fine-tune compression quality, target size, and more
- Plans and billing — upgrade for higher quotas and more features
What counts as an optimization?
Section titled “What counts as an optimization?”Each image that is successfully compressed and replaced on your store counts as one optimization against your monthly quota. The following do not count:
- Rolling back to an original
- Editing alt text (manually or with AI)
- Failed optimizations
Your quota resets on your billing-cycle anniversary, not the first of each calendar month.
